Statistics on clinical research in Sweden

As of 1 January 2024, the Swedish Ethical Review Authority is tasked with keeping and presenting statistics on clinical research in Sweden. The statistics are retrieved from the applications that the authority has reviewed and approved.

The number of studies in the last five years

You can search and read more about individual projects under the ‘Projects’ tab. The compiled statistics are presented under the ‘Dashboard’ tab, and selection, data and technical details are reported under ‘Documentation’. A description of the government assignment is provided under the ‘About the assignment’ tab. The chart shows the number of approved applications per month. Only projects for which an application has been received by the authority from 1 January 2024 onwards are included.
