Better overview with a new statistics portal

The Swedish Ethical Review Authority is now launching our new statistics portal on clinical research in Sweden. The graphs show approved projects in real time and it is possible to perform your own searches in the available data. For obvious reasons, the amount of data will initially be limited, but as trials are approved, projects will be made accessible.

The background to the assignment is that there has been a lack of a consolidated and structured overview of the clinical research that is being conducted. The data that the authority receives in its review process is a valuable source and provides a comprehensive basis for the statistics presented.

With time, researchers and research principals will benefit greatly by having access to statistics on ongoing and completed research already in the research planning stages. Resources can thereby be allocated to new and important studies instead of repeating similar ones. The statistics also make it possible to avoid the inclusion of research participants in parallel similar studies and the unnecessary processing of personal data. Through these statistics, we protect the individual in research.
