More data available in the statistics portal

The statistics portal has been supplemented with information on Principal Investigator and Department for clinical trials of medicinal products (CTR), as well as on the institution where the responsible researcher is active for initial applications.

The purpose is to improve the possibilities for analysis and follow-up. This provides research principals with better conditions to monitor which approved projects are carried out.

For initial applications submitted via Ethix, the variable Institution/affiliation of the responsible researcher is now published. The variable name in the data extract is institutionPI.

For clinical trials of medicinal products, information on Principal Investigator and Department has been added. These data are obtained from the Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS). The variable names are trialSitePI and trialSiteDepartment, respectively.

The new data are available in the CSV export and via the API. The information is provided as free text and is therefore not structured, which may result in variations in how the data are reported.

Some data from applications for clinical trials of medicinal products submitted before 15 May 2024 are currently missing. Work is ongoing to complete these data.
