New variables for medical devices

The statistics portal has been supplemented with information on the name of the principal investigator and the institution where the investigator is active.

For medical devices (MDR) and in vitro diagnostic medical devices (IVDR), the variable Institution/affiliation where the investigator is active is now published. The variable name in the data extract is trialPIDepartmentMdrIvdr. The variable Principal investigator is also published, with the variable name trialPIMdrIvdr.

The new information is available in the CSV export and via the API. The information is submitted as free text and is therefore not structured, which may result in variations in how the information is reported.

The purpose is to improve opportunities for analysis and follow-up. This gives research principals better conditions for monitoring which approved projects are being conducted.
